Peer Mentor Personal Development
All Peer Mentors complete an introductory training course designed to give them the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to feel confident in their role and responsibilities.

We offer a range of additional training and development opportunities to meet the individual needs and interests of our Peer Mentors, including:

  • Health & Safety Workshops
  • Communication Workshops
  • Safeguarding & Child Protection
  • Epilepsy & Disability Awareness
  • Platinum Youth Achievement Awards

Through our affiliation with Youth 1st & Fife Voluntary Action, Peer Mentors can also access a wide range of additional training opportunities.

All training and awards help Peer Mentors to build valuable skills, strengthen their CVs and qualifications, and improve their future education, employment and career prospects.

Building Confidence & Experience
Peer Mentors are encouraged to get involved in presentations, networking opportunities and information events. They may have the opportunity to:

  • Share their experiences as a Peer Mentor
  • Speak at presentations and events
  • Help create presentations
  • Represent Fairway Fife at networking and information events
  • Take part in activities that reflect their individual interests and strengths
  • These opportunities help develop communication, teamwork, leadership and presentation skills while building confidence and experience.

Ongoing Support
The Peer Mentor project is facilitated by qualified and experienced staff, who are always available to provide support, guidance and encouragement.

Our staff team are highly skilled and motivated professionals who regularly update their knowledge and skills through ongoing, individualised training and professional development.
