Fairway Fife is proud to be one of the employers across Scotland supporting young people through the Career Ready programme.
Career Ready is an 18-month programme designed to help young people develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to successfully move from school into the world of work.
Mentoring & Support
Our experienced staff play an important role in supporting and mentoring students throughout their Career Ready journey. Students have the opportunity to learn from our team, gain an insight into the workplace and develop a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in employment.
Through regular mentoring and workplace experiences, students can develop:
- Confidence and self-belief
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Teamwork and problem-solving
- Professional behaviour and workplace awareness
- Time management and responsibility
- Knowledge of different career pathways
Paid Internship
A key part of the programme is a four-week paid internship, giving students the opportunity to gain genuine workplace experience within Fairway Fife.
During their internship, students become part of our team and have the opportunity to experience a supportive, inclusive working environment. They can develop practical skills, take on responsibilities and gain a valuable understanding of working with people with disabilities and within a community-based organisation.
Preparing for the Future
The experience gained through Career Ready helps students build their CV, confidence and employability skills, while giving them a clearer understanding of their future options.
