Training

Training

All Peer Mentors attend an introductory training course to equip them with the knowledge and understanding of the role and responsibilities as a Peer Mentor.

Other training courses are facilitated to accommodate different training needs e.g. Trek Leader Course, Platinum Youth Achievement Awards, Epilepsy and Disabilty Awareness, Sign-A-Long, First Aid, Child Protection etc.

Being affiliated to Youth 1st also gives us access to the vast training courses they have on offer, such as Games Leadership, TOPS Training etc. All training courses will enhance C.V.s and therefore improve career prospects.

Peer Mentors are often invited to help give presentations and attend other networking/information events. This may involve speaking about their experiences as a Peer Mentor, helping to produce a Power Point Presentation or any other aspect they may wish to be a part of.

The project is facilitated by qualified workers who are always on hand to support and guide in all aspects of Peer Mentoring. Our staff team are highly skilled and motivated, they constantly update their skill set and attend regular individualised training programmes.
